The Greer Police Department offers two Youth Citizens Academy each summer that are open to middle school students in the Greer community. The seven-day sessions cover the material taught to adult academy participants. It also incorporates leadership and team-building activities.

The program and its curriculum were created by Greer School Resource Officers (SRO) Ashley Wright and Joel Galli. 

The two Youth Citizens Academies held in 2019 were led by SRO Galli, SRO Godfrey, SRO Bowens, and Sgt. Wright.
